Click on the desired question to see what documents are needed. In some cases there may be some differences in requirements due to laws in certain jurisdictions. What information should I provide Pioneer if the following occurs?

  1. I change my name in the event of a marriage or divorce.

  2. I acquire a working interest, royalty or override.

  3. There is a change in ownership due to a divorce.

  4. A company or corporation changes its name.

  5. A corporation merges.

  6. My Attorney-In-Fact changes.

  7. I put my interest into a trust or partnership.

  8. My trustee changes.

  9. My trust and/or partnership terminates.

  10. An interest owner dies.

  11. I have a joint tenancy and one person dies.

  12. An interest owner died with a Will (testate) and probate proceedings were conducted in the state where the property is located.

  13. Probate proceedings are to be conducted in a state other than the state where the property is located.

  14. An interest owner dies without a Will (intestate).

  15. I file Bankruptcy.

 


When will checks be mailed this month?

Pioneer currently mails checks on the 1st of each month. (Please note that these dates are subject to change without notice).

Is there a minimum dollar amount before a check is issued?

Yes, checks are mailed monthly when accruals to your account equal $100.00 or more, unless otherwise required by each state.

What information would be helpful to process my inquiry?

The owner's name and number would be very helpful. If you cannot locate your owner number, your social security number and/ or tax identification number would help identify your account.

What are some of the more common interest types shown on the remittance statement and what do they mean?

WI- Working Interest: The operating interest under an oil and gas lease.

RI- Royalty Interest: The mineral owner under a lease who is entitled to a share of proceeds from the production and sale of oil and gas.

OR- Overriding Royalty Interest: An interest in oil and gas produced and sold in addition to the landowner's royalty. It is normally carved out of the Working Interests.

Can you withhold federal and/ or state tax on my behalf?

Pioneer withholds federal and/ or state tax when required by the particular state or by the IRS.

How do I change my address?

Notice of your change of address may be mailed, e-mailed or faxed to Pioneer Exploration, LLC. For your protection, this notice must be signed by you or your appointed agent. Please include your owner number, social security number, your old address and your new address including zip code.

I change my name in the event of a marriage or divorce.

Marriage: Please provide a copy of your Marriage License

Divorce: Please provide a copy of the complete Divorce Decree changing your name or other court order changing your name.

I acquire a working interest, royalty or override.

Please provide an original or certified copy of the assignment, deed or conveyance that has been recorded in the county and state where the property is located. Also, provide us with your complete mailing address, social security or Tax ID number, phone number, fax number, and e-mail address.

Please provide a complete copy of the Divorce Decree and any separate property settlement agreement and recorded conveyances.

Please provide a copy of the Certificate of Name Change and the new Tax ID.

Please provide a copy of the Certificate of Merger that has been properly recorded in the county and state where the company's properties and/ or minerals are located. Also, please provide the new Tax ID number.

I put my interest into a trust or partnership.

Please provide us with copies of the trust document or partnership agreement and the conveyance document from the current owner of record into the Trust or Partnership which has been recorded in the county where the wells are located. Also, provide us the correct mailing address and tax identification number for the Trust or Partnership.

If not previously provided, please provide a copy of the trust document along with documentation of the appointment of the substitute trustee.

Please provide the Dissolution of Trust or Partnership and any recorded conveyances to the beneficiary.

An interest owner dies.

If the deceased party left a Will, which is being probated, provide us with a copy of the Will, Order Admitting the Will to Probate and Letters Testamentary. If the estate is not probated, provide us with a copy of the death certificate and an Affidavit of Heirship. Our Division Order Department will contact you if additional documentation is needed.

Please provide a copy of the Death Certificate, Will and the Order Admitting Will to Probate. If probate proceedings are still open also provide Letters Testamentary. If probate proceedings are closed, please provide the Final Decree of Distribution or Judgment of Possession.

Probate proceeding are to be conducted in a state other than the state where the property is located.

In addition to providing the Death Certificate, Last Will and Testament, Letters Testamentary and Order Admitting Will to Probate, you should provide documentation of the ancillary probate proceedings from each state.

Please provide copies of the Death Certificate, and an Affidavit of Heirship. If a court administration is pending, please provide Letters of Administration.

Additional Information:

- All payees are required to provide a social security, or tax identification number or Federal Law requires tax withholding

- All changes of ownership must be filed of record in the County/ Parish where the property is located

- Laws of agency preclude us from providing forms for conveying real property interests. However, you may contact an attorney, Legal Aid Society, or your local Bar Association for assistance in handling these matters

- Address changes or any other changes cannot be handled by telephone. Please submit your request by mail, fax or email (royalty@pecogas.com)
